Not to dwell on the past, but you should have figured out what subject you like in your first two years of college. If you can, reflect one which classes you liked the most. Were there classes that actually got you interested in the subject?

If you're still thinking about something science related you have a great source - your parents! You said your parents are both in the medical profession. Ask them how they decided to choose that. In general, find out what successful people studied in their undergraduate school and see where they are now. Search online. You have to do a little research.

I can relate to you about a lot of things you were saying. It's very difficult to find out what you want to do in life. You want to do something you like but you also want to be successful. I just want to tell you: Don't worry. As long as you work hard, it doesn't matter what you have a degree in. But you must start now, you have to work harder to find internships and get experience. As you gain more experiences you'll realize what you want and what you don't want to do.

So I finally found a job a couple months ago, and it’s a pretty basic job that I don’t think is really giving me any experience that I need to advance into a successful career.

I still can’t figure out what I want to do with my life… and I’m looking for any advice.

I’ve been pondering going back to school for a Masters in accounting, but I really didn’t like my financial accounting classes (took financial accounting twice, was bored both times). I don’t know if it’s something I should just suck up and go for it anyway since the pay is decent and it’s a good career or look into something else.

I don’t want to say the exact title because it might give too much away about myself, but it’s mainly data entry with no big responsibilities. I’m glad I even have a job, but I feel like I’m just making some money and not really building any skill set or experience relevant to any field. I want to actually be on a career path, and right now I feel like I’m just setting myself up for mediocre jobs from here on out.

Go visit a CPA firm, if you are considering accounting still that is. The classes don’t really give you any indication as to what the profession is actually like, and now (busy season) is a good time to go see what public accounting is really like.

If thats not your thing, then maybe consider some other graduate options.

Ok so I’ve been thinking about moving back towards roles in finance, but it would require more schooling ASAP I’d imagine. Can anyone offer any advice? Like I said I have a degree in Economics, and I’m currently doing very basic entry-level work… kinda hard to explain without giving up too much information about myself. If I was getting better work experience I’d just wait until I could go back to school for an MBA, meanwhile paying off my undergraduate debt. But my work experience isn’t good and I don’t know how I can advance into better work experience. I was thinking maybe a Masters in Finance would help my career… I need help!
