can someone hook me up

can someone hook me up with their Why Cornell essays? =P I just wants to see how to approach an essay. I'm applying for the economic/statistic program, so if you want to send me some of your old essays of why you want to apply to ANOTHER major at Cornell, feel free to PM me

alright, i see how it is

Dude, you waited only for 49 minutes. You do know that this forum is kind of slow at night since people actually sleep.

Yo, man, what’s up?

Try Googling it, a lot of the people here are really competitive, although you might get lucky.

oh hey biggie.

playhacker- okay sorry, i was really excited after i posted this thread.

But yeah, if you PM me, all ur wildest dream will come true

^What?! lol Well, that was interesting. :stuck_out_tongue: I wish I could help you out, but I’m a senior so my essay is long gone. I never saved it. :(

write about your passions for why you want to be an econ/stat major. start with that

Should the Why Cornell essay be structured more like a school essay or personal statement? And should the focus of the essay be on my love for the Cornell’s program or on me as a human being?

I’m a little confused by this topic. Isn’t “Why Cornell?” a Common App topic? Presumably, one could write about a wide range of topics while including why one is so interested in Cornell, couldn’t they?

^ “Why Cornell” is the supplement essay. I just want to see an example. You know how when you start your personal statement, you read a couple successful essays from books just to get a feel of what a personal statement is like before you write your own. Right now, i just want to read some past essays from the Cornell people who got in already just to get an idea.

I think you should read the Cornell supplement application. If it’s still the same each school has their own supplement and none of them ask why cornell?

^i know that, its just that Why Cornell is short and to the point.

So… anybody? please

gotta step up

^ Lucaskhan, did you sent it to me? cuz i didn’t get it. What did you mean “gotta step up”

everyone has a difference reason for why cornell. it is really up to you to figure out why YOU want to go here. reading examples wont exactly help you in the long run.

i want my Why Cornell essay to be about me, that’s why i don’t want to read one about why someone else applied to Arts and Sciences College. But i do want to read an essay about why someone wanted to do engineering at cornell. That way i can know how specifics you have to be and what kind of things that i should talk about.

there really is no right/wrong answer or direct formula to write these essays. just put down some ideas in outlines, try to write out a few of your favorite ideas. sometimes it takes multiple drafts until you get one that works

^ yeah true. Okay, never mind about the whole send me your essay things then.

But if any Cornell students want to see my draft, just holla here. =)
