Can someone not in AP Calc succeed on the AP exam?

Can someone who has only taken CP1 pre-calc and topics in calculus take the AP test in BC (no reason to take AB if BC has an AB sub-score) and perform well? I think I could do it. I was in ALG2H and I am in AP Stat, but I wasn't allowed AP calc or Precalc H due to a C- in Alg 2 H in a year where I had family issues. If I performed up to my ability, I could have taken AP calc... I know it's hard to read but its 5 AM... Is it possible?

One more thing. 740 on Math IIC SAT II if that counts for anything.

What does "topics in calculus" cover?

If it covers derivatives, integrals, Reimann sums, euler's method, some taylor series, and a brief intro to differential equations, you should be able to handle the AP Calculus BC exam

So far? It has only been derivatives and related rates... But I do work on my own, and I know about integrals. Are the rest something I can teach myself over the next 3 months?

Oh wow, thank you SO much for the link!

Today I arranged with the AP Calc AB teacher to sit in on the AB course during my lunch period from now leading up to the AP exam. I think I may also do the extra 2.5 chapters and perhaps attempt the BC exam because even if I perform badly on the BC part, there is an AB subscore in which I could receive credit for. Is this a good approach?

Yes. You have plenty of time...
