Can someone please chance me for Michigan?

All right, so I'm a junior in high school, just got my SAT scores back and I think I might have a decent shot at Michigan. It's my dream school and I would really love to go there, and I just want to know how my chances look. (I'm applying from out of state, by the way, I'm from Pennsylvania.) Here are my stats:

GPA (weighted): 4.65
GPA (unweighted): 3.85
SAT Scores: CR: 730 M: 560 W: 750
ACT: Taking in a couple of weeks but anticipating at least a 28
Class rank: Top quarter (class of about 400)
AP Classes/Scores: AP European History (took last year, 4), AP Biology (taking now, but anticipating at least a 3), AP Microeconomics (taking now,at least a 4), AP Spanish (taking now, almost definitely a 5), AP Language and Comp(taking now,at least a 4), AP Government and Politics (will take next year), AP Literature and Comp (will take next year)
Extracurriculars/Community service: Mock trial, Model UN, volunteering in my community with children and adults with special needs
Other: I am taking both Spanish and French currently, and last year I took the Le Grand Concours (the National French Contest, a national French standardized test) and got a perfect score. I was involved in spelling bees all throughout middle school, and in seventh grade I came in second place in my regional bee and almost went to the Scripps National Spelling Bee. I was involved in geography bees as well, and in eighth grade I received the opportunity to compete at the Pennsylvania State Geography Bee at Penn State.
I would really appreciate it if someone is willing to read all of that ^ and chance me! Like I said before, Michigan is my dream school and I'd really like to know if it's too much of a reach.

Medium reach due to average extra curriculars, average GPA, average test scores, and out of state status. You should retake either the SAT or ACT and try to get a better score for sure. Your SAT is better than the ACT as a 2040 is good enough, but that math score is a real blemish. Also, they’re not going to care about any extra curricular stuff you did before high school, or at least they’ll pay very little attention to it.

your math sat is in the bottom 9% of admitted students. pop that up to the median and you’ll be in good shape. Also, apply early action.

If you’re a reach you appear to be a slight reach. The math subscore of the SAT is low for Michigan but your reading and writing scores are good. I think a lot of the answer to your question will have to do with how your high school is perceived by Michigan. If students with your GPA tend to get in then your chances are better. Your math grades may also make a difference.

Raise the mathematics score by 100 points and you have a reasonable chance.

UPDATE:
I re-took the SAT, took Sat 2s (does Michigan look at those? I took them for Georgetown), took the ACT, got my AP scores back and want to know if my chances are better.
SAT: 2170 (740 CR, 640 M, 790 W)
ACT: 32 Composite (35 English, 27 Math, 35 Reading, 33 Writing)
SAT II: Spanish 750, French 600, Literature 650
AP: Bio 3, Micro 3, Language & Comp 5, Spanish 5

Does this improve my chances? Thanks!!

Yes, raising your Mathematics score from 560 to 640 will make a difference. And your 32 ACT score is also significantly better than your “better than 28” prediction. Along with your 3.85 unweighed GPA, you now have a reasonable chance, but remember to apply EA. I would still say that it Michigan is a slight reach (it is for most OOS applications), but you are now in better shape.

How’d you study for that 32? I’m having difficulty.

@Alexandre, thanks so much! @headed2great, I really didn’t study much for the ACT, but since math is my worst subject (as my SAT score demonstrates) I just looked over some old math notes. I also recommend taking the test with writing.

I would think you would be a match if you apply EA. Congrats on pulling that Math score up, that should make all the difference.

With your new SAT score, you’re a match. Good luck.

Pretty good chances I’d say. Not 100% though.
