Can Someone Please Chance Me? :)

Major: Art History
Schools applied to: Cal, UCLA [UCI, UCSD, UCSB Accepted]
UC GPA: 3.72
Major GPA: 3.75
Pre-reqs: 4/4 for UCLA, None articulated for Cal (but I did take most art history classes offered at my CC 8/11)
TAP: Both for LA and Berkeley

EC: Division of Fine Arts in ASO
One Community Service
Political Campaign Internship

Honors:
Dean's List
One scholarship from my CC

First gen American
First gen college student
Low income

It’s a sure thing, almost certainly

please teach me how you “TAP: Both for LA and Berkeley”
you can only do ONE

@xorrazor and @wanago2college Thank you so much for the chancing :slight_smile:
I really hope you are right xD

@pYoshina I think you are mistaking TAG and TAPs. TAG is transfer admission guarantee which is for UCSD, UCI, UCD, UCSB, UCSC, UCR. TAP for UCLA is Transfer alliance program which is done through your cc’s honors program. TAP for Berkeley is Transfer Alliance Project which assists URMs, low income, or first gen college student. Hope it helped!

oh really… when i went to workshop back in october they said something about being able to do it for only 1 school =.= guess i really am mistaken

@pYoushina TAGs you can only have one. I TAGged UCSD. They also have different requirements :)

Quoting pYoshina:“please teach me how you “TAP: Both for LA and Berkeley”
you can only do ONE”

This is why you should be careful when being condescending.

@ UCWolv Haha… yea… an awkward moment

You did TAP for Cal??? I hear it’s really hush hush.

@ anaval Yep I participated in Cal TAP. Yea people don’t really talk about it. You have to know and ask a Berkeley rep to join

Berkeley has TAP? I applied to Berkeley too but man did I miss that. I don’t think even my CC honors coordinator knew about Berkeley TAP program because he never spoke about it. He only spoke about UCLA TAP.

Oh well, all of us applicants can only hope for the best. Wish you all the best. I know I’m praying for mine. lol

Your GPA is above the average for UCLA. You have a shot.

Chance for Cal: 95% Chance for UCLA: 99%

Your stats are beyond impressive

Did you get an invite to compete for the UCLA Regents scholarship? Just curious - still can’t figure out if they send those mostly based on GPA

@Waterox

I don’t believe Berkeley’s TAP gives you priority like UCLA’s TAP. Also it is not merit based, it’s only for low income or first gen college students. Berkeley TAP reviews your personal statement and give you good information and answers your questions.

@mermakerand @ Eviity Thank you both :)

@anaval

I didn’t get any invitations for any of the schools :frowning: I didn’t expect to anyways. I think it’s mainly GPA based

Cal’s tap site says that 85% of the students that participate get admitted

@ anaval

I actually had no idea Cal’s TAP had such high admission rate
Thanks for the information!!! :)
