can someone please clear this question up for me

Does chewing gum really improve concentration? I hear from a lot of people this is true, and from a lot of others that this is a urban legend..

Er...I don't see how it could, unless one of the ingredients somehow was a memory enhancer.

But there could be a simpler answer. "One interesting thing we saw in our study was that chewing increased heart rate. Anything that improves delivery of things like oxygen in the brain, such as an increased heart rate, is a potential cognitive enhancer to some degree," he says.

lol why did you ask it here?
all you had to do was put chewing gum during tests into google, and a number of scientifical articles have been published.

http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLG,GGLG:2005-20,GGLG:en&q=chewing+gum+during+tests

I don't see why people have to rely on someone's post in an obscure forum as a definitive answer . . . I only ask when google doesn't work =

yea google is usually my best friend, but oddly I didn think of using it this time
