Can someone please evaluate my list?

Whitman College
Saint Louis University
University of Washington
Washington State University
Western Washington University
Drexel University
University of Arizona
Virginia Commonwealth University
University of the Sciences in Philadelphia

My ACT score is a 33 and my uw GPA is about a 3.45 :(

Is there any other info you guys may need?

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it.

Assuming that your weighted GPA is decent and you have some ECs....

I'd say that you have a good shot at most of them. I've heard that Whitman is getting more selective, so you might have a hard time getting in there, but the others seem like (relatively) safe bets.

You shouldn't have trouble. 3.45 though?

Yeah..3.45 unfortunately.

Freshman Year: (2 honors courses)

2.783
2.433

Sophomore Year:

3.566
4.000

Junior Year: (1 IB course)

4.000
3.950

Are there any reaches or safeties I could possibly add? Maybe even more matches?

I'm looking to major in biology (Pre-med).

You don't need more safeties or matches. A 33 ACT is very, very good and will get you into a lot of schools that are numbers-driven, like the state schools.

I do question whether you have hit on the right combination of schools. SLU is pretty small and personal (friend's son goes there, likes it very much.) U of Arizona is big and impersonal (nephew and his wife graduated there, were not totally satisfied with the experience, except for meeting each other, of course.) Which environment do you prefer? Are you willling to do the bureaucracy dance at a big school to get what you need? Are you ready for the segment of students that treat college as a four-year party (not that many make it past two years) Just wondering if you have considered other factors, as you have a lot of options with your numbers. Good luck!

I haven't really considered U of Arizona very much, I always kept it on as a safety. I'm not a big party person and I really want my school to academically oriented as well as fun.

I know SLU is religiously affiliated. Would I stand a chance at the school if I am not of the religion?

Bump please

Drexel is a joke. USP isnt very popular here, but it's a decent school.
I would go with UW, Arizona, Whitman or WSU, depending on what you're looking for.

I'm not from the Philadelphia area, so I'm not sure how Drexel is perceived in Philly.

How is it a joke? Does it just simply suck?

They're not really good for much besides engineering (which still isnt that good) and fashion design. It's pretty much all guys. I partied with some Drexel people last weekend and they're simply not smart.

Temple is a better school and a better value.

SHS, many universities don't look at Freshman year. MIT, Michigan, Princeton and Stanford to name a few. Your Sophomore/Junior GPA is 3.75 and your ACT is 33. You have a shot at top universities, like the 4 I mentioned above. Whaty do you intend to major in?

I really want to major in Biology (Pre-Med).

I was considering Temple, but I thought Drexel would be better. I might have to rethink this.

Temple is a much better school. As someone who's lived in the area my whole life and knows many people who've gone to both, trust me.

i agree, Drexel isn't a very good school and imo Temple is a lot better

Which school do you think is more selective..Temple or Drexel?

SHS, you really need to look at some reaches. Every single school on your list is a safety. Only apply to three of those schools on your list (Whitman, UDub and another), but concentrate on applying to matches and reaches.

That's the problem...I can't find any reaches. When I do find a reach, they either require SAT IIs (Which I'm afraid of) or they're insanely above my level.

Bump please..

What are you looking to major in?

Biology (Pre-med)
