Can someone please help me with deciphering Units/Courses/etc.?

please if you could take the time to read this and help me. this is not some nonsense question and i really need help. i would greatly appreciate it.

i'm going to a community college in the fall and trying to fulfill some of my breadth courses during that time. i'm going to go into the college of letters and science.

i was told not to take science or english courses there and instead take them at uc berkeley, so i'm gonna take classes that fulfill the other categories in the 7 breadth requirements.

that is the list of all the courses that UC Berkeley accepts as transfer credit from the community college i'm going to.

this is what i'm confused about. what i've copy and pasted below is a class that fulfills the history breadth:

|ART 1B History of Western Art (3)

i think the (3) stands for 3 units.

what i'm wondering is how many units we have to take of each breadth to fulfill the requirement? AND additionally, does that (3) stand for what 3 units as seen by UC Berkeley and 3 units as seen by my community college? my sister said they might be different since most UC's operate on a quarter-by-quarter basis so there might be some Units conversion or something.

if anyone could help me i'd be so grateful. thanks a lot!

Haha, good old PCC.

It looks like 3 stands for 3 units. But don't worry about that. If it says it satisfies the breadth requirement then it should satisfy it. There are 2-unit classes at Berkeley that can satisfy breadth requirements (not 1-unit though). Since PCC is on the semester system and so is Berkeley, you don't need to worry about converting units.
