Can someone please help with transfer units? Mechanical Engineering.

Hi, I'm transferring to Berkeley for Mechanical Engineering in the Fall. I'll be going to CalSO in July, but I want to have my schedule sorted out before then.

I'm having trouble figuring out which classes I'll have completed after I transfer my units. The major courses are obvious, but I don't have a clue about other things like Humanities and English.

I was wishfully thinking I was done with these types of courses for good. However, this doesn't seem to be the case. I have heard there are upper-division requirements for Humanities.

So, can someone help me identify which classes will transfer and what degree requirements will be completed?

Also, when units transfer, does the 70 unit cap apply to how many units they were worth at CC or how many they're worth at Cal?

Thank you.

See here for H/SS requirements: http://coe.berkeley.edu/students/current-undergraduates/requirements/hss-humanities-current-list/HSS%20NEW%20REQ.pdf

Use [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) to see what your CC courses match up to.

You will definitely need two upper division H/SS course, either in the same department, or with at least one in the same department as a lower division H/SS course (taken at CC or Berkeley).

In addition, if you none of your CC H/SS courses is listed as an American Cultures course for Berkeley purposes on [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) , then you need to take at least one such course (which can also count toward other parts of the H/SS requirement).

You also need to complete at least six total H/SS courses (at CC or Berkeley), including the specific types listed above and the reading and composition courses that you presumably completed at CC.

What H/SS courses have you already completed at CC?

Thanks, I found the courses through Assist and determined what courses will transfer and what requirements will be fulfilled.

I’ve determined that I only need two more H/SS classes but they need to be upper division and part of a series.

I’ve completed classes that fulfill the American Cultures, American History, American Institutions, and Entry Level Writing requirements.

Now my question is, which units are transferred? There is a 70 unit cap, but what unit value does this apply to? For an example of what I’m talking about, Calculus is worth 5 units at my CC, but only 4 units at Berkeley. So when I tally up how many units I’ll be starting out with at Berkeley, do I add up the Berkeley value or the CC value?

“You will definitely need two upper division H/SS course, either in the same department, or with at least one in the same department as a lower division H/SS course (taken at CC or Berkeley).”

So does this mean, for example (hypothetically), that if I only have History H/SS lower division classes, then I would need to take 2 History upper division classes?

Ok, I understand what you meant about the series courses.

But I still can’t find any information about my other question:
