Thank you!

I know that UC doesn't take freshmen year in to account, but I don't understand how and if they weight honors/AP/IB courses. I've read that you can allow 8 extra points or something, but I really don't understand :(. Clarification would be GREATLY appreciated.

Let's say you took 9 AP or IB or honors course that would give you 5.00 if you get As in those classes.

Let's just say, you took 9 AP classes in you entire high school career, getting As in every single class. Your UC GPA should be:

[(5.00)(8)+4.00]/9

instead of (5.00)(9)

Get the idea? Any more extra AP courses would be counted in the 4.00 scale, not 5.00. If you still have problems, you should ask your high school registrar to help you, since s/he would be the one sending in your final trascript to your college of choice once you are admitted.

whoa.

that means my UC weighted GPA would be around 4.4

when UC lists 3.9 as avg gpa for berkeley, is that according to their scale or is that unweighted?

3.82 UW and 4.35 W
