I don’t think that’s a good idea to send someone you don’t know your essay. There is a high possibility that you will find your essay somewhere else, and your essay will be plagiarized… Moreover, you can’t be sure in knowledge of a person who will proofread your essay. I’d recommend you to ask an essay proofreader for a help, then you will be sure of the quality of your essay proofreading.
I have never been a fan of using a professional essay editor. Both of my kids asked a trusted English teacher to review their essay and that worked out well.
I don’t know the term, “professional essay editor,” but english teacher best for grammar and sentence structure and college advisor/former admissions officer-type best to confirm essay and topic are original and interesting enough. My daughter used neither, but we have in-house expertise.
