Can someone put my mind at ease?

Hi. I am majoring in Corporate Financial Management, and I have roughly 2.5 years to go. I’ll explain why I am worried.
I was meeting with an old friend today, who majored in film. He can’t find a job anywhere, and may have to go back to school. I know I am not majoring in film, but I am constantly stressed about ending up in this position. I mean I have 2.5 years left, but my accumulative gpa is below average (2.8) and I have no internship experience yet and I am not a part of any groups. I am trying to bring my GPA up, and my major GPA is not that low. (Around 3.3).
I am not looking to work on wall street, or make six figures. Just enough to support a family when I graduate and not struggle. A decent house, decent car, and hopefully be able to work my way up after maybe a certain amount of years. (I am not sure, maybe 10?) I really just want a job out of college.
Can someone please tell me this is possible? As in I won’t be screwed when I graduate. I pay for school myself.

Stop worrying and focus on school. You can’t control the future, but you can control how well you do in school and how much you enjoy yourself while there. If you want to raise your GPA, get an internship, or join a group, you have control over that.

Be the best version of yourself each day, and what happens when you graduate is what happens, and you’ll deal with it then. Don’t borrow trouble.

I agree with MotherofDragons  You don’t need to worry about the future… solely because your friend has troubles with finding a job, doesn’t mean that you will have the exact same problem… focus on now and do the best you can to graduate successfully  It is far too early, to worry about finding a job at that time… good luck anyway!

Take a breath. I agree with previous replies. You cannot control the future. But based on the past, corporations will still be around and finances and management of those finances will still be needed. All you’re going to do to yourself is make your time at school even more stressful and possibly hurt your grades which can then hurt your chances in the future. Focus on the here and now, networking and interning. Lay the groundwork to a successful life after college. But I do not blame you for questioning your choices. Im sure you may think about it more and more as your college life comes to a close. It’s ok to be afraid of the unknown. Control what you can, how you do in school. If you love your major it will work out. By the way, I changed majors 4x in college cause I was trying to please others. My only regret is that I didn’t go with my gut. Trust yourself.
