Can someone rank my colleges from least to mostly likely to get admitted?

Hi everyone, thank you for taking the time to read my post.

  • Lehigh University (private)
  • Boston University (private)
  • Emory University (private)

Thank you again, any help would be definitely appreciated. I know I kinda slacked during freshmen and sophomore year but I’ve definitely improved junior and senior year!

Not getting into UVA or UNC with that SAT score.

@intparent ok thank you for your input! how about the other schools?

I don’t do chances threads but do you have any safety schools on your list?

The others are reaches too except Boston University which is a match.

@doschicos My safety schools are U of O, BU and Wake Forest (kinda). Do you think that’s fine?

BU and Wake Forest are in no way safeties.

@TomSrOfBoston oh okay. what SAT range should I look for in my safety schools?

You need a school where you know you can get admitted (your scores are in the upper end of their accepted student range), that you can afford, and that you’d be happy to attend. How much can your parents pay out of their $45k/year income? Have you run the net price calculators of every school you’re applying to yet? You should do that so you know that you have some affordable schools on your list.

You only have schools on the list that are reaches or maybe matches but may be unaffordable for you. Go to each school’s Common Data Set and look up the stats for accepted students and how you match up. That will give you a realistic idea of where you stand. You need a lot of aid, so you need to be looking at schools where your stats make you a top student. You need to select lower trier schools for merit. The top private schools meet financial need but your stats are not high enough to make this a certain possibility. Please research this quickly. You’ve started kind of late. You may have a hook- first generation but I’m not sure how much it can help. Is it too late for Questbridge?

@goingnutsmom hi so I did the financial calculators and most schools give me a lot of money. But if I’m not a top candidate, does this hurt my financial aid package even though they say they meet need??

I’m in the near 50% percentile for these schools except for emory and UVA though

Ok, so when you did the school’s NPC, they gave you a lot of money. Which schools were these? Are you a top student for their stats?

OP Is from Oregon which can be a West East bounce at some of those schools. Valedictorian from Oregon, First Generation, Pell Grant. That clicks a lot of boxes.

@goingnutsmom wake forest like 5k yearly, boston 50k (idk how), all the other schools are like 3-5k estimates. I’m not submitting my SAT for wake forest tho

Pretty much every schools I am near 50% percentile except emory and UVA. Maybe 40% percentile probably. Do you think I’ll get good financial aid?

@ClarinetDad16 I don’t wanna stay in Oregon!!! I wanna go to a top business school and discover my own path! Do you think I have a fair shot at these schools and at good financial aid?

Why do you keep posting the same question? The answers aren’t going to change. Try the SuperMatch function on this site. You need to find schools that offer merit aid that would consider your stats the top 75%.

Jimmy please re-read what I posted

Did you try the ACT? Is there still time to do so? You may do better on ACT than SAT and better test scores will expand your options.

Given that your family is relatively low income, I’d also take into consideration travel costs of getting to and from home and university. It’s clear you want to get out of Oregon so is U of O really a safety? A safety, ideally, should be someplace you’d be happy attending and can afford. Are there any schools in the nearby mountain west or PNW region - say U of Puget Sound - where you’d be more likely to get aid based on your academic record? I haven’t run the common data set for U of PS regarding test scores but your GPA is certainly competitive.
