Can someone read my Why Rice essay?

Please?
I would love to have another perspective and critique.
No Rice 2014 RD applicants, please.

I know you said no RD…but you got no other replies and I love to edit things. Can we trade essays? I understand if you don’t want to

Ill read it
I was accepted ED

Wait, are you really asking someone to read it, but no current RD applicants because you’re afraid you’ll have more competition or something? Isn’t that a bit snobbish on your part (asking for help but unwilling to give it yourself?)

No, it’s just being smart. It says right on the essay forum not to give your essays out to people applying to the same college as you. Apps are competitive, and temptation runs high. If you don’t want to help him/her, then don’t. You don’t need to be snarky.

Thats not a snobbish move at all mike, hes saying he doesnt want any other applicants to see his essay, because plagiarism is still alive int his world.

i’ll read it. im applying RD but my application is already sent.

I’ll read it, sent in my RD already

shimshaww- thank you. I’d love to exchange essays!
cowking15- thank you for your help! It’s great getting feedback from people who were accepted already.
MikeNdaMaddawg- sorry if I sounded snobbish. I was taking precautionary measures against plagiarism, especially since it’s extremely easy to steal on the Internet. (Not that my essay’s good enough to be stolen but still…) however, if you’re willing to exchange essays then I’d be more than happy to give and receive feedback.
Thanks Tilgaham, my thoughts exactly.
Rymd/Nucleartide- thanks! I was gonna say “let’s exchange!” but you sent yours in already. Well I need more feedback so I’d be happy if you took a look at mine- thank you!

Just wondering, how long (words) is yours? Mine’s around 450, but I think I’ve pretty much said what I wanted to. Too short?

O.o Doesn’t it say to limit your response to 200 words?

Um yeah it definitely says to limit your response to 200 words. However, the supplement allows 2000 characters so as long as you can fit your essay onto the space it should be fine. Mine’s 213 words btw.

My bad, I’m talking about the long Rice essay, the one that asks for “perspective”. Some people have been referring to that as the Why Rice essay.

Oh. Well for that one, I wrote a little more than 1000 words. >_< It’s exactly 3 pages double spaced, but I’m trying to cut it down. And I don’t think 450 words is too short. It’s not about the word count but the content, so if you said everything you wanted then it’s fine.
