Say you were turned down because your SAT grade in a certain subject did not meet the minimum requirement(But everything else was working in you favor). If you bring up the test score in that subject and reapply before deadline will you have a cleanslate or will the previous rejection still be looked at.

why ask us? That seems like quite the specific question that only your target college can answer conclusively.

They said that they will look at new scores if they are sent in before deadline, but I would just like to get a little confirmation from someone here who might have also been through this situation.

At many schools, if you’re rejected, you can appeal your decision, and with your appeal you can send any updates to your profile (GPA, SAT, new extra curriculars).

I can’t imagine the college would want you to start an entirely new application for the same term. If decisions are strictly final, then they definitely would not accept another application.

An actual rejection is final for the applicable class year at all colleges except for a possible appeal for which the chances of success are usually low. A second application in the same year is not allowed (whether you have been rejected or not).

So resending better scores before deadline, won’t get you through the door?

“They said that they will look at new scores if they are sent in before deadline,”

Pick up the phone. Call them and remind them about this. Tell them that you have new, better scores. Ask if they can reconsider your application.

None of us know what they will do. But they do. If you are seriously interested in this particular college/university, ask them.
