Can someone recommend a graphing calculator?

I'm getting a graphing calculator for the first time, and I thought I'd get some opinions from CCers. I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest calculator out there, just the best one to use for my Calculus class this fall and the SAT's, etc. Thanks!

your answer: ti-89 or ti-89 titanium...good investment through college plus most user friendly. you can get it for 80 bucks - 90 on ebay (brand new in box)

TI 83 Plus Silver Edition one...I would recommend the TI 89, but I've heard that so many tests and teachers don't allow it. Buy it if you feel you will be able to though. The 83 does a good job...in my opinion (IMO).

^^ So if I were to buy a TI 89, would I be able to use it on the SAT?

The 89 is one of the best calculuators out there. Just make sure that your calculus teacher allows 89's in class and on tests - my teacher would only let us you 83+'s because the 89 can do symbolic integrals and derivitives (ie. solve problems for you). Also, no matter what calc you get, take the time to skim through the manual and learn the features so that you can put the calculator to good use.

Edit: As far as I know, the SAT allows the 89, but the ACT does not.

Get a Ti-84 plus silver edition. Its the newest one out. $90 brand new on ebay. Ti-89's are not allowed on alot of tests.

get the 89... I don't have it but my friend does... it's the best

I have both an 83+ and an 89 Titanium, and I have to say that both are awesome. My calculus teacher lets us use the 89, so I have no problem with it. Go for the 89 (Titanium has a USB port on it).
