Can someone sort out this CommonApp Rec Letter Business for me?

So I’m working on my college applications right now, but I still don’t understand how rec letters work. I know I add my teachers via email through CommonApp once they’ve agreed to write me a letter, but once that rec letter is in, can I apply it to several schools? Should college letters of recommendation explicitly mention the college?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I would like to know before these deadlines start rolling around, as I still have some time to put these letters in for the schools I want to apply to.

Here’s how it works in my school.

I write your letter of recommendation. I hand in a hard copy to the College Placement Office, and upload a copy onto Naviance.

From that point on, I’m done. You can apply to 9 schools, or 900 ( :wink: )… it doesn’t mean any more work for me. College placement will forward that letter along with your transcripts.
