Can someone suggest colleges for me please?

I want to be a journalist, but I want to stay in the northeast. My stats are okay. I have a 3.86 GPA unweighted. I got a 1900 (700 CR, 630 W, 570 M). I took AP English 11, SUPA (affiliated with Syracuse) Forensics, and SUNY U.S History this year. Next year I plan to take AP Stat (even though math is not my strong suit, see SAT score), AP English 12, and SUNY Race. My extracurriculars are good, but I don't think they're stellar by any means. I was treasurer of my class, I am a peer leader, I interned with a local assemblywoman, I am a member of drama club, and I am a staff writer turned opinions editor at my school newspaper. I have also had part-time job since my sophomore year at high school. I worked at a Japanese restaurant during my sophomore year. I started working at a prestigious film center at the start of my junior year and I am planning on working there until I graduate.

I don't like Syracuse University, I have visited there and I hated the town. I want a more urban centered college. I really liked GWU, but I don't know if it is the most prestigious university and if I can do better than that. I like NYU as well. Please give me some suggestions. They would be much obliged.

How about Sarah Lawrence great journalism school.

I might just visit Colgate to see if you don’t mind the rural setting. It’s had a number of successful journalist graduates, and if you’re basing your desire for an urban setting on Syracuse, it may be due to the fact that Syracuse is kind of a crappy city, or at least parts of it are.

Boston University, Emerson, American and Maryland. Best of luck!
