Can someone tell me everything you know about Moore-Hill?

I think this is the dorm I'm leaning toward, but I just wanted a little bit more info before I decided. The only things that make me second guess is the fact that Jester has sinks in the rooms, and I've heard great things about the social scene at the Honors dorms (not nuts like Jester, but tons of fun). Anyway, ... can anyone tell me what it's like to live at Moore-Hill as a freshman? Thanks!

yeahh i want to know…

cocoaluna-- Moore-Hill is awesome! I wasn’t sure if I’d be ok with community baths but the hall i live in is really small and it’s bathroom has 2 showers and 4 toilets and i’ve never had to wait for either one. I put san jac and duren as my first 2 choices cuz of their single baths and MHD as 3rd. I REALLY wanted one of the first 2 but i’m really glad i’m in MHD. MHD is also about $2000 cheaper than those other 2, and its already up the hill on 21st from San Jacinto Rd. People in san jac have to climb that hill every time they go somewhere. MHD is also right behind Gregory Gym, and across from the Jester concourse (which has 2 dining halls, Wendy’s, Jester Market). McCombs and the college of natural sciences are also very close walks.

Before I got to UT, I heard moore-hill was like a smaller, quieter Jester with a lot of upperclassmen. I think that’s pretty true. The lobby is a gameroom with a pingpong table, foosball, and pool table and the tv lounge (with a big screen) is adjacent to that. The gameroom/lobby/tv lounge is a big reason why everyone at moore-hill is so close. There are always people playing ping pong or studying there every night so you get to know most of the people. We’re getting a new pingpong table and foosball sometime soon. The RAs, front desk, and maintenance are all really nice. MHD is shaped like a G and there’s a courtyard in the middle of it that we use for our own little events like the haunted house or s’moore-hill.

The rooms are separated into Moore and Hill. The rooms in moore (mainly the side facing 21st st) have immovable furniture, similar to the virtual tours on the housing website. The rooms in Hill have movable furniture. All rooms have 2 closets. The beds are not adjustable so bring bed risers if you want more storage under the bed.

If there’s anything else, just lemme know. Crazichi is one of my hallmates, i believe, haha.
