So, my common app essay and one of my supplement essays are both about my major and how this one book I read pretty much cemented my choice in major, possible career path, and influenced me to take a leadership role in my community.

Specifically the common app essay discusses me reading the book and having somewhat of an eppifinay. This spurred me on to further researching my intended are of study and making a final choice.

However, the book also influenced me to take a larger role in my community and lead to me organizing an event for UNICEF in my community for which I lead 4 volunteers and over 75 participants in a walk to help children's educstion and clean water efforts.

Both essays begin with me talking about the same book. Is this too repetitive? should I chane one topic even though I feel I've written exceptional essays?

P. S. My second supplement essay is also regarding my major but the prompt was to talk about our major and future goals. Nonetheless I just don't know how to add more variety.
