Can tardiness affect my acceptance?

So, here's the thing. I've been late to my first period calculus class 15 times. My school has this annoying policy that if we are late 16 or more times, we lose credit in the class. Even if I were to lose credit, which I'm hoping won't happen, I'd still have more than enough credits to graduate. However, my mom now has me paranoid because she said that so many tardies and/or losing credit won't look good when NYU gets my final transcript. I'm sure I'm just being overly nervous, but does anyone know if this could affect my acceptance to NYU?

losing credit may be very bad for your final transcript...this could possibly make u lose your place at nyu...i'd try to be on time from now on...or call nyu

however, tardies do not go on your transcript and will not affect you in any way....dont worry about the 15 tardies, worry about losing credit though.

And why you were tardy...that is something you need to think about, because next year you will have a class at the same time, i assume,

so why were you tardy...

and why after, like the 7th time, you didn't fix the problem?

Actually we start school at 7 am, so I won't have any classes at the same time next year. Plus I can leave 10 minutes before class next year whereas now I have to leave at least a half hour beforehand because traffic is so unpredictable and the crossing guards do different things everyday. Also, I had no idea I had been marked late so many times until yesterday when I got a letter in the mail about it. I know there's really not an excuse for being late 15 times though.

Oh and I don't know if this changes anything, but my grade has been a 97 or 98 in this class every quarter. The credit loss wouldn't affect my grade in the class or my GPA, just how many extra credits I would have at graduation time.

An admissions officer from NYU told me that as long as you don't fail all your classes or commit a felony, you'll be FINE. Try not to lose credit, you only have a few more weeks to get to class on time. If it comes to it, though, and you lose credit, I would just call the admisions office, let them know, and appologize. It's be okay, they're not going to rescind your acceptance over poor attendance in senior year!

You should be fine, just don't be late anymore. And, just because you only have to leave ten minutes before a class, you will be surpised how easy it is to be late!!!

My D has a friend ACROSS the street from her HS and barely makes it in time...she thinks, oh, I have more time, its just right there, so she moves really slow, and gets to school as the bell rings.

Losing credit means failing, around here anyway, so don't miss any more classes. Get up earlier for these last few days, it could mean alot. Good luck, rise and shine!!!!

wow you guys lose credit after 16 tardies we lose it after 7.... haha
