If you spend time doing medical related activities such as shadowing and research, can this help with programs like the PLME which give your decision in March/April?

I am also wondering a similar thing. I am wondering if it can help/hurt your ultimate decision. Or maybe once you are accepted the midyear report is disregarded…

I sent a mid-year update to all my colleges(including bs/md programs) and handed in a hard copy at med school interviews. It definitely doesn’t hurt, especially if you are doing something new that could influence the program’s decision.

it can definitely help if you’ve gone through interviews already or invites haven’t gone out yet to send an update with anything especially noteworthy you’ve done- research projects, service projects, etc… this is also good to do if you are waitlisted at any schools or programs that you want to go to! the mid-year grade report is mandatory i think for most programs…
