Honestly, because I think we’d benefit a lot from having a ‘college transition’ board. Don’t tell me to go post in “College Life” because it’s full of jaded, disenchanted college students who really aren’t that helpful when it comes to discussing stuff like roommates/stuff to bring/hopes and whatever else.
As a HS Senior, I agree - that kind of board would be especially helpful in April when we’re making decisions and over the summer as we are preparing for college.
It is because some things are college-specific but there are also issues that are common to all college-bound kids: study habits, roommate selection, stuff to bring, calling home, fears/hopes, etc. I just thought that a large, general forum would get more responses rather than just a few from people in the smaller college forums.
The class of '08 definitely deserves their own sub-section!
I agree with the comments made here. I made a few posts regarding similar things but it’s hard to find these threads among the countless/random actual College Life threads.
Maybe call it the College Freshman Forum for those coping with adjustment from HS to college.
archrival-that’s a good idea for those going to popular colleges. But for those of us going to lesser-known schools, the forums are very often ghost-towns.
I suppose, but that’s like saying that the AP board is only active in April/May. There are always people around who like to get stuff done ahead of time.
