<p>If after the first year or two you find that you are not intellectually stimulated or can not find peers that you relate to intellectually, then transfer. By then, you will be used to being away at college, you (most likely) will be firmly set on a major and you will have a much better idea of what would make you happy. Starting at U of M is a great idea. You may love it and do the entire 4 years there. If not, there is no harm in transferring elsewhere. It happens all the time. Go and get the most out of your freshman year and then reassess if you must.</p>
