Can u please post ur stats?

Can accepted people please post their stats so I know what to shoot for. I know from various persons advice that chances threads are useless for going-to-be-juniors because projections aren't always accurate. So if people can post them, hopefully I'll be able to set a target and be able to work towards it. thanks!

btw, I'm mostly looking for SAT scores, GPA, and Class Rank. You don't need to post ECs, Recs, Essays, etc.

From what I have seen, I would just try to shoot to be above the averages. Because of that, I would shoot for at least having a rank in the top 6% of your class and a SAT of 1400 (old version) or higher. GPA is hard because it varies so much, so focus more on the rank and also taking the hardest classes available to you. Lastly, do focus on being involved and really focus on the essay as ND does watch it very carefully.

I will now turn it over to you guys if you want to post your stats, but I thought I would throw in my general advice.

GPA: 3.91 UW (school doesn't weight grades)
Rank: school doesn't rank, but 3/90+
SAT: 2320 (800 CR, 760 M, 760 W)
PSAT: 214/229 (if your looking at projection)
ACT: 34

APs: 5 Calc AB, 5 US Hist, 5 Euro, senior yr: Calc BC, Chem, English Lit.

Awards: Too lazy at the moment to list them all, but I had quite a few through my school and a couple outside awards (Honor societies, etc.) National Merit Scholar and AP Scholar as well.
Btw, I applied EA and was accepted as a Notre Dame Scholar and into the Honors Program as well. I hope that helps.

I was accepted EA

GPA: 4.48(?) weighted
Rank: Aprrox. 4/53
SAT: 660 V, 800 M

This is the official Notre Dame decisions thread from this spring.
It contains probably the best admissions breakdown available anywhere online.

Good find, I forgot about that thread!

Yeah, that thread is really helpful. I just wish I could tell who applied Early and who Regular.

The thread that I previously linked to I assume is all regular decision.

For early action go visit this thread:

Oh nice. Thanks.

Class rank is very important- be in the top 5% and it increases your chances A LOT. I really think this is why i didnt get in, despite having a 1500 old SAT, my class rank was barely top 10%

I hope it also has to do with schools. My school hs ridiculously smart kids in my class and I have a feeling that I won't be able to make top 5%. If they understand that my school has smart kids, maybe being in top 10% there will be better than being in top 5% of some smaller school. Or at least I think that's what the admissions person said at a Notre Dame seminar I went to when I was there for the summer program.

I go to a pretty competitive school. I got into Johns Hopkins, BC Honors, and Wake Forest with my rank, but not Notre Dame. People ranked around me got into schools like Brown, Cornell, Lehigh, NYU, Barnard, and even Harvard (athletics though). So its fair to say that class rank is more important at Notre Dame than it is at other top 50 schools, and being in the top 5%, while not neccessary, is a huge plus.

Agreed. Don't stress it too much but really focus on your rank because it is important!

Hey seniors to be, relax!
If you go to competative school, Notre Dame will know. If they don't already know your school by reputation, I'm sure your school's difficulty will be reflected on your school transcript and your reccomendations. My high school is super competative and I wasn't even in the top quarter. Yet I got accepted to ND.

Also some unsolicited advice:
http://admissions.nd.edu/moreinfo/stafflist.cfm
See your local admissions rep if he or she is coming to town and send a follow up email to them; it worked for me.

Yeah, I actually just sent an e-mail to Mr. Nguyen, my local rep today. Introduced myself and threw in a question. I can't wait for him to come to New Jersey for those info sessions.

Personally I believe that if you arn't in the top 10% of the applicant pool and arn't legacy that admissions is a total crapshoot. I saw plenty of qualified applicants get rejected while others who seemed slightly under par were accepted.

A prime example of this would be ckmets being rejected with a very solid application and myself being accepted with a terrible GPA and a quite low class rank.

If you fall in the top 11%-40% of the application pool all you can do is play the waiting game.

SAT: 2340 (800V, 800W, 740M)
SAT II's: MII 800, Chem 800, Lit 680
ACT: 34
AP's: Chem 5, Eng. Lang. 5, Bio. 5, Phys. B 5, Calc BC 5, Latin Vergil 4, Eng. Lit. 4
GPA: 4.5 (Got straight A's in the hardest courses my school offers. 4.5 is an estimate as I have never bothered to actually calculate my four-year GPA)
Class Rank: School Doesn't Rank

Extracurriculars
[ul]Eagle Scout
[]Secretary of Order of the Arrow Lodge and brotherhood member
[]Senior Patrol Leader
[]Principal Bassoonist of prestigious student orchestra
[]Band
[]Quiz Team
[]Engineering Team (We got third in the nation this year)
[]Chess Club Secretary

I am also into computers and have built many of them for retail. I maintain my own linux server which runs my website, teamspeak, and file server, and monitors traffic on my home network.

However, they didn't let me in until I proved I could walk on water. If you don't have superpowers, you shouldn't even bother applying.

Seniors, don't let PutschCasusBelli scare you.
There is no doubt Notre Dame is a difficult school to get into. And like many other good schools, Notre Dame will accept those with outstanding records. But, those who are just below this level face tougher chances. How does a college distinguish between students with similar GPAs and SATs? Legacies are used because Notre Dame runs in their blood and theses students really want to attend.
What I suppose I am trying to say is distinguish yourself. Go to info sessions, write a good essay, and seek a good reccomendation. College admissions is complicated; qualified students will be unfortunately rejected. Hey, Syracuse thought I was nothing special, but Notre Dame accepted me. All you can do is give it your best shot and hopefully Notre Dame will judge you correctly.

Boo! (ten chars)
