Can undergrads take grad classes?

Again, the question is: Can undergraduate students take graduate level classes?

Why I want to do this...

I've taken tons of classes during my time in the Air Force and while at California community colleges. The classes I've completed are going to force me to take more upper division classes than usual--well beyond the upper division requirements. I'll be out of upper division classes that really interest me, but my CC counselor thinks UCSD will allow me to swap an upper division class or two for grad level classes....classes that I find MUCH more interesting.

depends on the class, depends on your major. In many cases with prior approval of your department chair you can.

Yes, and its definitely going to make you competitive compare to others. Usually you need a certain GPA and have approval from the professor teaching the graduate course.
