Can we appeal to Berkeley because we choose wrong major

My intented major is Computer Science but I chose Elec& Eng and Comp in my application. I stated clearly in my personal statement that my major is Computer Science too. The reason is the Computer Science major is listed under another College which is Letter and Science. I didn't notice that. Of cource it is my fault, but u guys think I can appeal for that reason ??

What you want is not an “appeal”… Just go call up a counselor at UCB and ask him/her how to change your major.

i think its called petition to change major

I am in the exact same situation at you buddy and guess what? There is no “computer science” major listed under majors list when you pick UCB inside the UC Application. Main reason I chose Elec&Comp Sci because that is the only major that fitted my major’s description the most. However, as soon as I have to fill in the major prerequisite for UCB, I know I am screwed because I didn’t take any engineering class lol

“The reason is the Computer Science major is listed under another College which is Letter and Science”
Can you explain a bit more about this? Maybe I am missing something when filling out the application.

@Argo…: I went to this http://students.berkeley.edu/admissions/general.asp?id=20</a> and saw the Computer Science under College of Letters and Science. That’s funny right. I thought I made a mistake when filling the application. Are you sure they didn’t list that major in the application ?
If it s called " petition to change major" , isn’t it too late now?

Yes, it is too late. Petition to change major only when you are admitted. I am 99% sure that “Computer Science” wasn’t listed there.
