I was accepted EA but I didn't recieve AGORA until I got my acceptance packet...

SerraPadre07, that's soooo good to hear! I've been freaking out because i applied RD back in September and haven't gotten one yet.

It's so weird that they haven't sent the Agora password to everyone, considering it doesn't depend on whether or not you've been accepted anyway. BC's a little weird, they emailed me saying I had missing materials and that I should call in for more information. I did that and the lady said my high school transcript was missing. And I was like are you sure? And the curt reply was,"Well that's what I just told you."

I would've resent the transcripts if I hadn't realized that all my stuff went in one envelope, so either everything was missing, or nothing was. So I called up again to make sure, and this time the (nicer) lady checked and said they had everything. So they'd freaked me out for no reason.

applied RD. ive gotten confirmations they have all my stuff but im pretty sure i never got emails from them..def no agora

I was sent an agora acct in late january and applied reg decision. Like everyone else, mine serves no purpose.

For those who think they never rec'ed the agora info, go back to the email BC sent when they confirmed receipt of your application (January for RD). In that email, they give you "security credentials" and state your Eagle ID, password, and username. Then, it mentions signing into the agora site.

cma1, I just went back to that email and it states nothing about eagle ID or security credentials.

i still have that email, except no eagle ID was enclosed in it. The email is dated September 28, 2006, since I applied RD very early...maybe that's why i don't have it yet?

yea my email is dated late november, as the BC supplement was supposed to be done before the common app. This could possibly have something to do with it. Also the only other thing i got from BC was a postcard that said they have everything from me and that they would send out decisions on april 15.

yea i got the login thing but my friends haven't. the website says people get a agora login username when they have a definite acceptance but no letter and besides the email came in jan. 7.

My son's email came on January 25th. It states as follows:

Thank you for your continued interest in Boston College. You are
now eligible to log onto Agora, BC's web-based information network.

Your Security Credentials are

Password:

To take advantage of Boston College's Applicant Services, sign into
Agora at:

Please retain this email, since you will need these security credentials
each time you log onto Applicant Services.

This is an automated message. Please do not reply.
Our apologies if this duplicates an email already received.

The agora site advises that they our financial aid info is all in except the 2006 tax return which my husband has not done yet. ugh.

Does this mean your son is accepted...

https://agora.bc.edu/agora/forgot.html

"Newly Accepted Students:
Your Boston College credentials (Password and Eagle Identification Number) were emailed to you as a follow up to your official acceptance to Boston College. If you can't remember your credentials, please call 617-552-4357 to receive assistance with your credentials. "

Don't know. I hadn't seen that message until you posted it. But would they already have made a decision in January? My son's application was submitted on 1/1. So, I don't know if they really would have made a decision by 1/25 when he received this email. Maybe they were overwhelmed with applications and just weren't as organized as they would have liked.

I got that email that is copied above on January 30th. Maybe there was some techie error and they have just been pretending that it wasn't suppossed to happen. Hopefully the techie error means that people who got their Agora accounts got in...? I guess we will just have to wait and see.
