I might be arriving a bit late so I want to make sure that I can move in at around 11 or 11:30am maybe.. I'm going to be a freshman and want to meet my floormates; hoping they won't be gone already by the time I arrive >_< Should I be okay?

..Yes. The lines are long enough so that most people won't get in until about 11 anyways.

I live close by so I can pretty much move in whenever I want. I'm wondering when the best time to move in would be to avoid the lines. I was planning on being there by 10 so I can be one of the first but will it be crowded at this time?

What's the optimal time to move in so as to avoid lines?

around noon is best from what i have been told...maybe a little afternoon too

correct me if I am wrong but 10am to 5pm is when we can move in right?

Sambago - You won't be the only one that wants to be "one of the first," so you can imagine that it'll be really crowded in the beginning.

Yes so at what time will the crowds have died down a bit?

dude did you read my post or what?
and think for a second, the later, the lesser # of people...makes sense ya?

Not for clubbing. The later the more # of people.

^
yes yes .

Will there still be parking around noon?

My family and I will be driving up there for move in day from SoCal. It's a 6 hour drive.

You'll have better luck with parking and with getting a cart to move in the later you arrive. People line up starting at 9 a.m. and all you do is wait in a big line sitting on piles of bags and cartons like bag ladies, getting frustrated. The elevators are clogged up, people are double parked in the street and getting ticketed -- it's a big mess. This is for the early people. The upside to this is you get to meet people standing in line.

It's generally done by Freshmen and people who want to scramble to be first to pick the bed they want.

If you've already contacted your roommates, know the layout of the room and which bed you want, you can usually negotiate this issue by email prior to move in, which gives you the luxury of arriving later and avoiding the early rush.

Thanks, UCLA77. Then, I guess it's good I'm arriving at noon tomorrow(possibly, later). I contacted my roommate and he said that he's moving in on Monday because he lives in the Bay Area.

I'm moving in at like 4

I can top that: I'm moving in on Tuesday. ;)

so how's movin been for those of you who have...that is if you still check CC now...

lol yea..^

do we park first? then get room info then go unload then park. then move in?

They get their internet Sunday I believe.
