can we take more than 3 classes fall semester?

or are we forced to take 3 to start? then we can move onto 4 or 5?

3 courses is a full load. If you have a high GPA (i can’t recall the limit right now) you can enroll in up to 22 units. If you’re super overachiever you can petition to take more than that. 4 courses your first quarter is a really bad idea, and 5 courses is academic suicide.

*assuming all classes are 5 units.

You can enroll in more than three classes if the total units still comes out to 19 units or less your first quarter. You can request an exception, but it is unlikely to be granted.

The GPA required to take up to 22 units after your first quarter (without an exception being made by your college’s counselor) is a 3.0 or higher. Beyond 22 units or if you have under a 3.0 requires an exception to be made by your college counselor.

So can I take 3 5 unit classes and one 3unit class?
Or would that be too hard? Because I am thinking about taking chem 1p

Don’t do more than 17 credits first quarter. Most classes are either 5 units or 2 units. 2-units classes are often the labs associated with a lecture.

ok so what should I do?
Math, core and chem 1p
then that would be only 13 units is that ok?
Because my HS had sucky chem teachers so I would need the help.

You can always make up that 2 units by taking three 5-unit classes and a 2-unit lab later on. In fact, you’ll probably end up doing that anyway.

So I say do the 13-units this quarter.
