can yoiu dedicate your studies to the structures/buildings of a university??

sorry, i am a non native, and i wrote this as a last sentence in one of my essays:

this fact, however, has only deepened my wish to learn more, to become a part of this unique community, dedicating my studies to the dignified, beautiful neo-gothic buildings of the University.

can you say that?? i remember the greek-english princeton student who helped me editing my essays saying that she was doubtful about this one, but then she never mentioned it again?? did she forget it? please help, i am about to go to the post office and mail it!!!

Are you planning on becoming an architect?

As long as you plan to study the architectural structures of these buildings - i.e. like to become an architect, it seems fine with me? You should make this clearer though - as for now its pretty vaguely worded. I seems like you don’t actually try to talk about these buildings, but try to say something deep about the foundations of Princeton. For me, at least.

yup, that was the reason… i mean like you, guilty bystander put it. i wanted to tell them that, if i became a part of the princeton community, i will thank them through my studies…
is this weird??

oh, yh and i don´t really wanna become an architect. i am more into humanities ^^

austriangirl: I mean, it’s not particularly weird. There are definitely several freshman seminars here devoted to learning about Princeton.
