<p>Can you take a summer course you don't need for units/IGETC or major prep in the summer before transfer, if you said you would not attend college during summer 2011? I would like to take a course to bump my units to 105 quarter units before transferring. Would this be fine, as long as I inform the UC campus I'm going to attend before taking it? Do I have to make these changes in the January update, or can I wait until I can register for summer classes to tell the UC?</p>
<p>You are entitled to change your mind. Just make sure you inform the UC of your intention to take a summer class and pass the class you take with a B or better.</p>
<p>Yes, you can take the course. Just add it on the spring update. You should have summer schedules by then.</p>
