Can you appeal fin. aid just because it is not enough?

Can I just appeal my fin. aid. merely based on the fact that I need more money? In the packet it says inidividuals who have special circumstances like child care costs or emergency medical bills, a significant change in financial cirumstances, and extenuating circumstances which distinguish them from other families of similar income and characteristics which were not considered in the initial determination can apply for a reevaulation but can I? FYI, my parents COMBINED make slightly below my total unmet need per year..... so I really need more money.

Also, what do I need to include in my appeal? Do I really need to send back everything like transcript, recommendations, letter explaining money circumstances of course, and like what else? Thanks for any help.

I do not really know, but if I go I know I will be asking for more money.

My parents are appealing because they expect my parents to pay 6k more than they can afford.

read zackdudde's post in his thread.
this was discussed there.

I agree that you definitely should appeal...I did too :D and I haven't heard anything from Drexel..totally unsure of the possibility to appeal successfully.

It looks like they will be getting a ton of appeals as our family is doing so also. It can't hurt. My financial aid was over 10,000 more than our EFC.

I sent an e-mail to Mrs. Pineda asking for appealing. Still haven't got any reply yet.
(I'm an international acceptted applicant)

anyone know how long after sending the appeal it takes till they get back to you?

I would suggest setting up a time to talk to someone in the financial aid office. Then be civil and lay out your case and offer to provide additional documentation.

I think I'll withdraw
