Can you Appeal Your Decision to Cornell?

I was reading some threads over at the USC sub-forum and there are apparently a lot people "appealing their decisions". Does Cornell accept any of these appeals? i.e. if an applicant has compelling information such as domestic violence or illness of parent for a bad year?

FYI: Daily Trojan - 500 appeal USC rejections, 32 admitted

500 appeal USC rejections, 32 admitted (from 2004)

I don’t believe so. If you had that information, it should have been included in the application originally. But if you didn’t include something that is VERY severe, then perhaps call them when their office reopens.

Cornell has waitlists and GT’s for a reason. If you werent offered either then there really isnt much hope.
