Can you be a commuter student at Dartmouth?

Does anyone know what percentage of students do not live in the dorms?

not your first year…

Is there any housing off-campus after freshman year?

I’ve read that Hanover does offer off campus living, but that it is very expensive, most likely because Hanover is basically a college town, so landowners can afford to charge more. I cannot say whether the frat houses are on or off campus.

Frats are on campus…there is certainly reasonably priced off campus housing, it certainly won’t cost more than being on campus and in some cases its quite a bit less. there’s not a ton, but especially getting into junior or senior year many people live either in a frat or off campus rather than traditional dorms. But being off campus doesn’t make you a commuter student, you’re still a ten minute walk to the center of campus max for the most part.
