Can you be accepted to FSU without AP classes?

I have never taken an AP class. Reason being is because I go to a private school that is very strict about students choosing AP class. If a student does not have a certain SAT/ACT reading score and certain grade in a class, they won’t let you take an AP. Guidance counselor said this is because they care about how students do in AP class, when in reality, they care about my school’s overall GPA (which is very high and my school is one of the highest in my area).

Freshman year I took standard classes, and moved up to all honors sophomore year to now (senior year). Does FSU still accept honors-only students? (aside from the gpa and test score.)

Because of the fact I was not allowed to take any AP classes (even with my grades of A’s and maybe 2-3 B’s here and there), I did not choose to take a free period this year and took Spanish 4 along with my other honors classes.

The guidance counselor also told me in exact words, “Because of your SAT reading score and B average in the test category of social studies, you will be making Cs and even Ds in AP.” But I still had an A in the class. :frowning:

Yes, you can get into FSU without an AP class.
