I'm a rising senior who lives in Georgia. I know there's a lot more that goes into college acceptance than just what classes you took, but is it even possible to get into GT without having AP Calc? I had honors algebra 1, geometry, and honors algebra 2 9th-11th. Next year I have honors pre-calculus, AP Statistics, and honors physics. I know AP Stat won't give me much credit, but my school won't let me take AP Calc. Should I just give up on tech?

The sample programs listed here:
[GT | Degree Programs](http://www.gatech.edu/degrees/)
all assume that the student starts off in Calculus I (i.e. no AP credit), even for majors like math, computer science, and engineering. Obviously, usable AP credit would be a bonus in letting you start in a more advanced math course, but it is not required.

You do not need AP calc to apply to any engineering/science college in the nation. Having it may be a plus but it is not required and many are admitted without it. What might look bad is having intentionally avoided it which is not your case since you really need pre-calc before taking calc
