My bicycle has always been my singular mode of independent transportation (besides the city bus system), and I love it very much... her name is Tonks. A lot of the schools I'm aplying to have very large campuses (eg. St. Paul's). And I was wondering if boarding schools usually alowed bicyles on campus. does anyone know?

That's a good question. I was wondering the same thing.

Yes, they are allowed, at least at my school. I don't know why they wouldn't be...

what school do you attend tuesdayair?

yes for l'ville

Be careful though to register it with security and keep it locked! My older son's was stolen, most likely by someone from off campus.

I think Deerfield and Hill do...
the viewbooks had pictures of students on bicycles :D

I understand Deerfield has communal bicycles... meaning you can borrow a school bike to get from point A to B and leave it for the next person to use. Nice honor system!

I am pretty sure that tonks is allowed, dazzle. =)

Hey dazzlezzz, does Tonks have colorful hair?

Tonks, like Harry Potter Tonks? Sorry I'm a really big nerd :)

That's what I was referring to. ;)

The use of bicycles is seasonal at Deerfield. They are stored during the winter so the students won't be hurt while riding and slipping on the snow or ice.

That helps. Are there similar systems at any of the following schools?:
-Exeter
-Andover
-SPS
-Choate
-Hotchkiss
-Loomis

no, no colorful hair, but she does hate it whe you call her dora.
Anyway, I'm confused. After she maried moony, did she become "Lupin" because Tonks was her maiden name.

I thought she liked it when people called her Dora, but got mad when they called her Nymphadora. But I think she didn't change her name when she got married.

ahhhhh,
Nymphadora is what I meant... but I couldn't spell it so I just wrote Dora.

Ohhhh...That's okay. :)

:)

Mercersburg allows bikes but you have to keep them locked. Unlocked bikes are actually confiscated so they don't get stolen or damaged. You can get it back once you buy a bike chain.
