Can you chance an asian female(*sigh*) for Penn?

I’m very disappointed by the explanation you gave for your name. Sorry about your sister. It’s just a thought but you might want to change your name to Diamonds30.

Don’t worry about the Asian thing. It’s just a thing Asians like to whine about. Three Asian girls in my class were accepted ED to Ivies (Yale, Dartmouth, Penn) this fall, and none had an SAT over 2150. One had a 1990. Funny, but when an Asian at my school is accepted to a top school, their race suddenly becomes unimportant, but whenever one is rejected, race is paramount.

For the record, I work in the English lab at my school and read over 100 application essays in early December. Even the top Asians had horrible essays. They write about the stupidest stuff imaginable and often come across as arrogant (“I’ve always been a high achiever” or "Most of my teachers know less about the subject than I do . . . “) . It’s a bad combination. Write good essays and it won’t matter that you’re Asian. Good luck.

Penn isn’t called the Jewniversity of PennsylvGAYAsia for nothing. They like “diversity.” There are PLENTY of Asians at Penn. It won’t keep you out.

Yikes. Yeah, I could see that happening.

People use that term?

LOL I mean, the term is a joke, but yes I have heard it. People say JewPenn more often, – and lots of other schools have it tacked on humorously, including BJew, and NYJew. But I heard that term, laughed out loud, and thought it was VERY accurate! Also, the gay is not related to the asia, in case you were offended. But if gay offends you, you might not want to come to Penn. It is ranked first in the country for gay friendliness.

your scores are perfect it just comes down to your essays

wow…you have a good chance…
I’m an Asian female also…
but T_T…

Wow, I can’t believe some students would actually write "Most of my teachers know less about the subject than I do . . . “ although I’m sure it’s probably true… My freshman lit teacher taught us from Shakespeare for Dummies :(

^ hahah omg my freshman english teacher taught us romeo and juliet from no fear shakespeare LOL!

Brilliant professors we have, plumdum229 :)

WOW!
Are you God?
