College budget/Family income?

My mom is a pharmacist. I know she makes around 110 thousand a year. My dad lost his network job around 6 years ago so he works a small job at dillards in retail. Idk how much he makes. And the college budget depend on whether I get scholarships or aid

Only reason I am asking is that although you are a highly qualified and competitive applicant, UCLA and UCB offer little to no financial aid (need-based or merit) to out of state students. You should expect to pay $60K/year to attend.

USC can offer good financial aid but apply before December for the best chance at scholarships. I cannot comment n the rest of the schools. I would look at the Net Price Calculator for UChicago to make sure it is affordable.

Ok thank you very much for the information!!

@bryagod If you want to go OOS, why do you have Texas schools in your list??
You need some Matches and Safeties, you list is too top heavy. But otherwise I have no advise to give, you have a great application.
I would remove the UC schools as you will most likely be full pay, as fin aid for those schools are terrible for OOS students.

UT Austin- low Match
-Rice- High Match/ Low Reach
-UCLA- Match/ High Match
-UC Berkeley- High Match/ Low Reach
-Stanford- Reach/ High Reach
-University of Southern California- High Match/ Low Reach
-Harvard- Reach/ High Reach
-Yale- Reach/ High Reach
-Princeton- Reach/ High Reach
-UChicago- Reach/ High Reach

I would add
Brown
NYU
Emory
Vandy
Tufts
Wake Forest
U Rochester
Villanova
BC
BU
Vassar
Middlebury

Thank you so much! I did not list safeties or matches due to the fact that those are terms I have never come across. UT would be a safety i believe because I have automatic admittance

Can anyone explain what it means to have a match? That would help a lot

Your statistics are certainly great and in the range of acceptance to all of those schools. I would really try to emphasize your approach to admissions in the coming months. You’ve laid down the foundation and done the heavy lifting. Now try to relay your efforts to stand out. Sure all institutions are primarily academic, but once you pass a certain point, it is viewable in many scatter charts and becomes evident that selection is no longer based on numbers alone.

Best of luck!

Thanl you so much! I’ll certainly try my hardest @esuhla

Also here is some extra information to help with the advice I’m getting
