What are going to be her safety, match, and reach schools?

PS -if anything is unclear, feel free to ask! Thanks again!

I had a 4.3 in high school with 4 years Varsity soccer, Track, Speech and Debate, etc. and didn’t get into UCLA or Cal. I also know people with around 3.5s that got into UCLA. It seems to be pretty random. Maybe they didn’t like my name…or maybe it’s because I’m not a minority. Who knows?

bump… Any responses please because my cousin is kinda nervous on what schools are worth trying to apply for

She should apply to all of the UC schools that she’s in any way interested in going to.

she is applying to most of the UC’s except Berkeley, Riverside, and Merced.

chabot college

Is she a transfer student? This is the UC transfer forum…

This is the transfer forum. She seems like a freshman applicant. I’m not an expert, but UCLA seems like a reach for her. I suggest she also applied to the other UC’s.

I don’t think she has a chance. I know people with 4.0 UW GPAs and good ECs who didn’t get into UCLA straight out of hs.

investment- UCSD, UCD, UCI, UCSB and UCSC would be better for her?

UCSD is a long-shot and she’ll probably get into 2/3 of the other 3.

Honestly, admissions are so random no one can tell you if she will get in or not.

My best friend got accepted to MIT early admit but rejected from UCLA. My other friend was rejected from Cal Poly but accepted to UCLA and about 12 of my friends got accepted into Cal my senior year. We were all in honors an AP courses but no one had a 4.0.

Just tell her to apply and hope for the best! That’s all anyone can do.

Besides UCLA and UCI, I don’t think any of the other UC’s offer Nursing.

What is your cousin’s alternative major?

biological science, pre-public health

bump…
