I took my ACT on April 13, 2019. During registration, there was a section that asked about colleges I was interested in. I inserted 4 colleges that I had my eye on and didn’t think much of it. Fast forward two weeks later and I realized that the colleges that I selected were going to receive my scores upon release. I’m freaking out because I have no idea what my score will be so I definitely don’t want my scores sent. Also, I’m a junior this year. Is there anything I can do to change this??
You cannot now stop the scores from being sent to the colleges you designated. The last date you could have done that was April 18 – you have until the Thursday after taking a test to change or remove colleges from the ones designated to receive the test upon release of the scores, which you could have done by going into your online ACT account.
Be aware that this not a disaster even if your score is not what you hoped for. You can always send another test with higher scores later. Then, depending on college, the college will use to determine admission either that test with the highest composite or will superscore the tests, meaning use the highest section scores from the combination of tests. Thus, the lower scores will not be used against you.
The thing is, I have not even applied to these schools yet. So will they just keep it for when I do apply?
^ Yes they will.
