if i want my common app essay to be different for villanova than when i submit it for yale is that ok? when i submit to yale will i be submitting it to all my colleges or can you submit the application one at a time?

There is a way ( I did it last year with DS) to do a second (and third, and fourth., and etc.) VERSION (I think that is the term) of your Common App. That way you can change whatever information you want. As I recall the button for it was somewhereon the upper right on the website last year. You may have to do a diff. password for a new version as well, but I know the information transfers from the first, to the next versions, and then you can certainly change the essay, and at least some of the information.

Yes, you can change your essay for different schools. Just make sure that ONLY the schools you want to send to are on your My Colleges list when you submit it. After submitting, you can then make changes, save and submit to other colleges.

Support Center

Go to Changes after Submission, then question #2.

how does that work with supplements?

can i have my list of 10 schools, send in the common app + brown supplement for early decision, and then start doing the alternate stuff?

Here are the instructions for creating new "versions":

can you change your common application essay completely or are you allowed only to make some minimal errors and submit what you submited on the original version.
and also can you invite your previous teachers with different e-mail addresses. or other teachers than you have invited previously?
