I am still deciding on solve the puzzle of what teachers go where on my applications. That made me wonder if I could change recommenders after I submit because there is a possibility of them not writing letters on time.
Any thoughts or experiences?

No. But schools do know that recommendations often come in a little late. Why do you expect the teachers will be late, though?
@intparent I actually didn’t give them much time for the recs. I’m applying for BS/MD programs, and those colleges want you to essentially apply twice (regular and BS/MD) by around 11/1. That means I will be putting a lot of burden on them and I heard some teachers sometimes decline after they said yes.
They have 2 months from now — as long as you clarified the early deadline for them, and they said yes, I’d expect it would be fine. Have you checked in with them this fall, if you first asked in the spring?
