Can you combine SAT scores from different dates?

Let's say that in spring I got an 800 on the math section, and 200s for the critical reading and writing sections. If in fall I got a 200 in math, and 800s in the critical reading and writing sections, would I be able to pick and choose which scores to report and say I got 2400 as the combined SAT score?

I know "every college is different" and all that, but generally speaking, do most colleges look at the best score in each subject, or do they want the best overall test?

That’s certainly not a good strategy…it’s not possible to report individual sections, so colleges will see those 200s.

Some accept superscores, some don’t.

@Xaari: he was exaggerating.

In order to get a super score, or best possible score, you have to submit all your scores. You can’t submit them individually. Some colleges super score, others don’t.
