Can you correct a mistake made on CSS Profile?

I put down the wrong High School name that I attended and is there is anyway to correct it????? Who do I contact? Do I contact CSS people or the individual college that I sent to?

Also another off-topic question is how do we know if we're eligible for the Pell Grant? When do we find out? Someone please answer!

THAHNKSSSSSSSSSSSS

Unfortunately, you have to send each and every one of your colleges a letter whenever you have a change to the PROFILE. This really annoys me - as much as they charge you'd think they would send corrections, but they don't.

Pell Grant eligibility comes from the FAFSA. I don't know the exact numbers.

How would I address the letter?
Is it like,
"Dear X College,

I made a careless error.

Sincerely,
(signarture)
Bob

lol sorry if it's nitpicky but I don't have room to make anymore errors.

When does the Pell Grant eligibility comes out? I have 0 EFC...will I get a letter in the mail in March or something?

Thankssss again!

Pell grant is based on the FAFSA EFC. The maximum for the 2008-2009 school year is $4731 with a 0 EFC. The maximum EFC to qualify for any PELL is 4041 which would get a reduced grant of @$890. The Pell comes as part of your financial aid offer from your school. It is not a separate letter.

We just had to do this. We said something like this:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Date
College
Address
Dear Financial Aid Officer,
Explain change. Apologize for the inconvenience.
Thank you,
Student Signature
Student Name
Social Security Number
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope that helps,
Huguenot Mom

You need to call the finaid office at your college(s) and ask them where to send your corrected Profile. Each school has a procedure in place for making the corrections. Many students have to do this each year to provide correct information based on their completed tax returns (if they filed the Profile using estimates). The schools we dealt with told us to print out the Profile and handwrite in any changes. They also gave us the name and address where we should send it. So..call the school(s).

Agreed with others...the College Board should allow one online amendment per year so that corrections/changes based on completed tax returns can be done. But they don't...

Thank you to all that helped me!
I really appreciate it!

grrrr...lesson learned. Don't ever do your CSS Profile 1:45 am at night.

I would suggest calling every college first. Sometimes they will not mind minor changes like updating your tax returns and stuff to your CSS since they have your FAFSA and your actual tax documents. However, putting the wrong high school seems pretty significant but call them anyways just to make sure.
