Can you declare a major if you don't meet the grade points? It's L&S

you need 70 grade points in the prereqs, and i don't think i'll have that. but i want to declare because people say the upper divs get better.

10 points for gryffindor!

Now you have 70. Have fun.

I am assuming you mean the IB major, which has the requirement to attain 70 grade points from pre-req courses before declaring.

If you are close to 70 and the classes you are currently taking would get you up above 70, they often will accept your declaration, but you have to be close. They like you to declare during the first 8 weeks of a semester, probably so that your telebears appointments will be assigned with a better priority because you have declared a major.

You can get into some UDs without declaring, as long as you have met the pre-reqs. The ones in the highest demand tend to have the open seats fill super quick and then the remaining seats are for declared IB and related majors. If you pick the ones that aren’t as high demand, you can take them now.

Do you know what the high demand IB classes are? And thank you for your response. So my life not over? I can still declare IB?
