Can you double major?

I checked the UT website about double majoring. It said that you can't originally have 2 majors, but you can add a major later. Does anyone know how the whole process works? I know that with liberal arts you would get a BA in liberal arts as a double major, but I am wondering how it would work through the College of Natural Sciences.

You can add double major freshman year. You need to go to CNS counselors and ask. Paperwork takes 5 minutes.

What majors do you want to do? There are some restrictions such as you can’t double major in Mathematical Sciences and Math UTeach, or Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

Thank you both! I’m not entirely sure, but I’m interested in Microbiology and Public Health. I’m putting Micro as my first choice, because you can’t even apply for a public health degree until after you complete certain courses. I may just stick with Micro or completely change to public health, I just wanted to know if doubling was an option.

i asked my adviser the same thing and she said basically the same thing ya ya said, just that you have to have something like 30 credits at ut austin before you do it.
