I currently have a 3.3 gpa, but on the site it says the minimum requirement needed to apply is a 3.4. I have good sat scores, a good essay and decent ecs, will the University of California schools still consider me, or will they not consider me at all since I have not met the minimum requirement?

Calculate your UC-weighted GPA (they will have information on their site, or you can find a link somewhere on CC). If it is less than 3.4, you will be ineligible. My son’s unweighted GPA was less than 3.4, but his UC-weighted GPA was in the 4.0 range. Nothing else matters, though, if your GPA and “A-G” criteria don’t meet their requirements. With a UC-weighted GC over 3.4, your chances are decent at all three of those campuses.

Can you afford the UC’s as an OOS student? Nonresident undergraduates pay an additional $22,878 per year in nonresident supplemental tuition.

What trips up most OOS applicants is the Fine arts requirement in the a-g required classes. Also if you read the instructions for the UC GPA calculator, only AP classes can be used the 8 semester Honors points.
