Can You Get Into Columbia Grad From Any School?

I'm wondering if it is possible to attend Columbia for graduate studies if the program is unrelated to my undergraduate studies. For example, if I attend SVA for graphic design would it be possible to get into Columbia for say, renaissance studies?

In short, yes. As long as your application is strong (GRE, GPA, recommendations, essays…). I would, however, focus on articulating why the program in question - seeing that it will be at variance with your undergraduate focus - is appealing. One of my TAs, who was a phd candidate in Modern European History, majored in dance, albeit at Barnard College. Lots of grad students come from a myraid of undergraduate institutions, with a broad range of interests and majors. Medical school, however, is a completely different story.
